Brew Club Minutes for 3 Feb 2007 Saturday, Feb 3, 2007
The meeting took place at Jim's place.
Present: Ferd, Barry, Steve,
Randy, Jerry, Jim, Jack, Tim, Pat, and Rick
Don the sausage guy was there too along with many lovely ladies hanging on his ,err..., sausage?
1. Treasures Report: $497.5in the Bank. Tim paid his yearly dues pushing us over the $500 mark.
2. Old Business:
Jack moved to dispense with the
reading of the minutes of last meeting. Everyone agreed that this would be a
vey good thing to do seeing as how Jack forgot the minutes.
Jack reminded the group that you get
who you vote for.
Rick made a successful grain run to Gambrinus and the grain has been distributed.
3. New Business:
Jack mentioned the possibility
of a "specialty" grain run to some place in Vancouver. The ensuing
discussion degenerated into a mass of unintelligible babble. However Steve
and Andrea said they would look into the possibility of forming a CO-OP so
we might get some wholesale prices on some grain.
The club wanted to affirm to Chip
that the brewing rabble were a resource he can count on to do any brewery
heavy-lifting (and heavy-drinking). Jim has been appointed the Official
Commissioner for expressing this to Chip.
St. Patrick's Day is on Saturday
this year. Think of the possibilities and bring them up at the next meeting.
Jim is going to investigate the
Chewelah Keg & Cork Fest for next year to see if the Brew Club can run a
The Okanagan Fest-O-Ale is on April
13 & 14 despite all the rampant speculation to the contrary. Jack will get
coordination instructions posted on the website so that individual members
can make reservations and have some kind of smi-organized trip scheule.
We have a contact in Bend, Oregon
who has offered the Brew club flop access to her apartment should we
shamefacedly show up to check out the town. We can vet our house to see if
her Teutonic roots would make her a suitable Oktoberfest guide on the Brew
Club's 2008 Oktoberfest adventure. A summer trip to Bend is in the works.
Oh, Yes. 2008 Oktoberfest is now somewhat closer than it was when the idea was spawned amidst the vomitous bile of a couple of intrepid brew club members. Start looking at how far out we can get reservations and get your passports.
4. Next Meeting: Saturday, March 3rd at Jim's. A noon Potluck. OK, Jim. Let's get it right this time.
